GOOSENECK REWORKING
All reworked goosenecks start with the dezincing of the complete gooseneck.
After dezincing the casting is inspected for cracks or any obstructions in the
nose/spout area. When the gooseneck casting has passed inspection any stuck
plungers are removed and the sleeve is then bored out of the casting. Again the
gooseneck is inspected for any critical erosion or cracking, this eliminates any
further unnecessary charges to the customer. The gooseneck casting is then bored
or honed to insure a good fit before a new nitrided nitralloy sleeve is installed.
After the new sleeve has been installed in the gooseneck it is again checked for
size and close tolerances to assure dimensional accuracy. The gooseneck sleeve
is then polished honed before shipping.
